Observations

The phone doesn't ring till I'm headed to the bathroom.

My boss doesn't look for me till I'm at the copier.

You can color VERY lightly with a red crayon, and it's still red, not pink.

I can skip breakfast and not think a thing about it.  Except on fast Sunday.

Large-bubble bubble wrap is not as fun to pop as small-bubble bubble wrap.

Wouldn't It Be Cool If...

What if you could make your body stronger by doing kind, from-the-heart kinds of activities.  Every new mama who is up tenderly caring for her baby in the night would have a no post-baby bulge to worry about.  Anyone who made you really laugh--especially if you were in desperate need of a laugh--would lose a half pound instantly.

I'm putting this on my list for the world I create.  It would be incentive for people to be nice, don't you think?

Random Happenings at Our House

Taylor has scheduled with the Salt Lake Temple to receive his endowment at the 9:00 a.m. session on Thursday, June 21st.

I made a seriously awesome lasagna for dinner last night.

I've been spending some time watching "Cheers" on Netflix.  It makes me LOL.

Spencer is working a second (swing) shift through the end of the year--have I mentioned that?  It's hard.  We never see each other.  I purposely don't blot my lipstick before I kiss him goodbye in the mornings.  :)

Ash and Lando have been in Idaho with their grandparents this week.  They'll be home today.  Hooray!

I had my first stake Primary presidency meeting this week.

Bountiful Baskets gave us a fruit, and I have no idea what it is.  But it's really good!

Spencer got a little Mazda Miata.  It's black  The name choices are:  Black Pearl, Jafar, Frozone, or Zurg.  Any votes?

There is a gentleman at work.  He is truly a gentleman.  He is kind.  He is good.  He is also intelligent.  He is happy.  He is very knowledgable.  He is helpful.  I really, really like him.  He tries to talk so fast that he almost stammers.  I don't know--maybe it is the leftovers of a stutter or stammer.  It doesn't slow him down, but he tends to repeat certain words at the beginning of a sentence or paragraph.

Last week my boss gave a presentation.  He used the phrase, "...if you will" at least a half a dozen times.

Our team leader for the Kiss Me Dirty run used to send us a weekly email.  The first time, the salutation said, "Dear Dirty Damsels in Distress."  The next one said, "Dear Darling Dirty Damsels in Distress."  Every week she added another adjective to the salutation, all beginning with the letter D.  It was impressive, really.  I asked where she came up with all of those adjectives, and she said she Googled it.  She was getting pretty desperate by the end.  :)

I wonder if I'm the only one who notices these things.   And if so, does that make me pathetic, shallow, or wickedly observant?

Wouldn't It Be Cool If I Had Something Wonderful to Say?

Week #3 in Primary, and yup, I'm still in heaven.  There are two little girls who do not actually live in our ward, but they come consistently with their grandparents, who do live in our ward.  These little girls are kind, sweet, thoughtful people.  I love them so much!

Ashtyn's meds and new wheat-free diet seem to be helping.  She's all signed up to finish her junior year through electronic high school.

Taylor has a real girlfriend.  She's darling.  They went on a date on Friday night.

Also, Tay completed his Eagle project on Saturday.  Since his birthday is just 6 days away, it's still a race to see if he can complete all the paperwork, etc. in time to actually RECEIVE his Eagle award.  If he does, I'll probably have to go buy him a uniform that fits; and a bandelo; and sew on all his merit badges.  And find all his merit badges.  Don't even get me started on the BSA--suffice it say, I'm not a fan.

I bought food for the boys and men to take to Mosida.  I got a big hug.  Spencer worked for 6 hours outdoors in January.  I'm bettin' he got nothin'.  Someday our children will know how AWESOME their father is.

Landon has become one of the funniest people I've ever met. You should hang around with us if you get the chance.  You're guaranteed to either laugh at him or roll your eyes at me ("It's just not that funny, Mom.").

Saw "Secretariat" last night.  Loved it.  Except for the part where the 1973 daughter said, "Mom, you are awesome."  That was about 10 years too early for that word.  Remember when AWESOME received its new definition?

Time to go to school.
