Why?

An older gentleman just walked by my desk and said, "I liked your hair better the other way." Why do they say things like that? And what is the appropriate response?

"Thanks, Jerk!"

"I think your hair is ugly, too."

"I didn't ask your opinion."

Ladies and gentlemen, this is proof that I have a long, long ways to go to be like our Savior.

And in the meantime, keep your rude comments to yourself!

:( This does not make me happy. I'm sorry he said that to you. I like your new do! I think it looks great!

I love your new haircut! I am so jealous that you can look that gorgeous with short, easy to do hair! That is just crazy. I am surprised that someone would be that bold. Especially a man. Sorry, but they are all clueless about pretty much everything. I am seriously in shock. Doesn't he have any responsibility in the "christ-like" area too?!? Talk about rude!

No matter who you are or where you are, single, married, kids or not, working in the home or out of it, eating, sleeping or playing, people ALWAYS say stupid things. It's an unfortunate truth.

I've thought the same thing about people's comment, but they usually have to do with kids. I've just learned to take the smile and nod approach. Although, people should find themselves lucky they don't say anything if I'm grumpy. :) And why does he think it matters what he thinks? It's not like he lives with you or something (or maybe I'm assuming :) ).
By the way, your hair is adorable! I love it.

OK, I just have to ask, do my comments drive you nuts? Every time I hit "publish your comment" I notice all these grammatical mistakes, I cringe. I've been out of school too long.

The stroke of the whip maketh marks in the flesh; but the stroke of the tongue breaketh bones. That's my new vinyl I made for mom and Kimberly for mothers day on tiles. Just maybe that needs to go on your desk? But it could end with Shut up I don't want to hear your opinion! Ha! HA! I'm so clever!

Can I kick him in the knee caps? I love you're new hair cut. It's very fitting for your beautiful face. I would have said one of the things you mentioned... And then I would have cried. I'm sorry. Some people really need a filter.

When I worked there, I had to put a sign on my desk once that said it was never appropriate to comment on a girl's weight, good or bad. This was when I was pregnant and perhaps touchy, but I didn't need the old guys telling me how I didn't gain as much or that I had gained WAY too much as their wife. Old men seem to lose their tact as they gain hair in their ears.
